THE OLD MINT, Liegenschaftsfond Berlin, 2009–2016

The Old Mint in Berlin – Die Alte Münze – was op­er­ated by FTWild Com­mu­ni­ca­tion on be­half of the Liegen­schafts­fond Berlin. Dur­ing the time it was a space for old and new trea­sures in the cap­i­tal! The for­mer mint, with al­most 1,200 square me­ters of space – about the size of a reg­u­la­tion hockey rink – is lo­cated in the heart of Berlin. In­clud­ing sev­eral pro­duc­tion halls and a passerelle, the build­ings had al­most been for­got­ten until the Liegen­schafts­fond Berlin – a city-owned prop­erty man­age­ment agency – re­leased the lo­ca­tion to start being used as an in­terim event space.

After a short plan­ning and con­ver­sion process in 2009, FTWild opened the new event lo­ca­tion with a Media Night for the Media Board Berlin-Bran­den­burg in the Old Mint, the newest event lo­ca­tion in the city’s his­toric cen­tre. This was fol­lowed by nu­mer­ous club nights and party events, count­less con­fer­ences and a se­lec­tion of first-class events and gas­tron­omy pro­duc­tions, in­clud­ing the Calvin Klein Fash­ion Show and the Prêt à Diner by Kofler.

The jour­ney ended for FTWild in 2016 and the lo­ca­tion found a new op­er­a­tor.
